IS DRY NEEDLING THE ONLY SOLUTION?
Juliana Sijore
"Ultimately, our goal is to help you in the long run, that is through active rehabilitation."
Dry needling is a treatment technique whereby a disposable sterile needle is inserted into the skin and muscle. It is aimed at the myofascial trigger point (MTrP) which are hyper-irritable areas of the muscle. The goal during the treatment is to elicit a local twitch response which would help normalise the muscle tone. In Precise Rehab, the technique was founded by Robert De Nardis, a renowned physiotherapist in Australia, who founded Global Education of Manual Therapists (GEMt).

As manual therapists, we believe that every medical profession can benefit from integrating movement and dry needling in their practice, for the ultimate betterment of their client. Hence, dry needling is not the only solution to your worries. Dry needling is just another tool of treatment that we, practitioners, utilise to reset your muscle tone. When the muscles are ‘reset’ and altered, your muscle integrity is then restored. As a result, your muscles are able to function more optimally. However, this varies from individual to individual.

Ultimately, our goal is to help you in the long run, that is through active rehabilitation. Active rehabilitation is where a physiotherapists and movement specialist, would prescribe specific and customise exercises in accordance to what your body needs. Not only that, we highlight and empower you on the “whys” because we believe only with the whys, it would be more sustainable for you in longevity.
